If You Build It
Three years ago, Destin Smooth Jazz realized that our local area had little to no live Smooth Jazz from April to September; we were in a Smooth Jazz desert. DSJ embarked on a journey in 2018 and launched our promotion company and held the first show on Memorial Day weekend 2019. Those of you who were lucky enough to attend received a great treat with such a dynamic show featuring Calvin Jasper, Chris Godber, Dominique Hammons and a band of musicians that left the crowd in awe.
We were positioned to do another great show for our first anniversary, last May, and then everything came to a screeching halt. After much debate, we decided to keep the music playing in Ft Walton Beach in 2021. We invited one of the artists, Nathan Mitchell, who was scheduled last May, to kick off this year’s season on May 15th. We also have other great shows scheduled for June 19th and Sept 18th at “A Touch of Class in FWB.
We can only continue to bring such excellent talent to the area with your great support. So, please invite and encourage your friends and other music lovers to join the Destin Smooth Jazz Family. You can help ensure the old adage remains true – “If you build it, they will come.” We are providing the foundation for great Smooth Jazz, but we ask for your continued support to help strengthen this house of music.
